Super Handy Computer Screenshot Feature … Friday

About a two years ago, the number one son (Pierce) after watching struggles on completing these posts, formatting problems incorrect file format….

“Want me to show you an easy way to get that chart into your post?”

Windows key, shift and S key all at the same time!

This puts your screen into a cropping copy mode and you just drag the mouse to what you want copied to the clipboard…

Looks like this … always use the crop mode, but in doing this post realized there is a lasso and full screen mode as well…

Brilliance!

A huge time saver!

Used every week and often multiple times weekly and frequently all in the office use as well!

Known as the Pierce Screen secret!

And That’s a Wrap, Keyboard fixed FINALLY, Braces on, Look Out Newsletter Here We Come … Friday

Outside of the normal weekly excitement we’re happy to announce that a much more appreciated laptop has a new keyboard and is working like a champ. It’s only 18 months old we hope that this is not a lemon … but have a whole new appreciation for just how many times you have to capitalize, and how hard it is to get to the symbols without a caps.

Braces On

Yesterday Pierce, the one with the best teeth in the family … but not the straightest, is happy to find he has braces on his upper row. Somehow it seems to be something to be proud of as likely many friends also are in the same situation. Will be interesting to see how proud lasts as the pain sets in … discovered from my own perch two decades ago.

Newsletter Begins

A laptop with a working shift key? Lookout Newsletter, it’s on!

For those long time followers you know much of the Newsletter (and other communications) is dictated but for some reason creativity stalls when at the compound at 8222 Douglas.

Very excited to review a lot of the things that have occurred over the year-likely WAY too much to get in just this Newsletter, always better to have too much than not enough, but think you will enjoy.

First Travels of the Year, Keeping Goals – Friday – Office Hours

Wow…. Thanks for all the feedback on the Homestead Post earlier this week… with such positive feedback, we plan on making it a reminder in the future… much like we have been doing with the ES Tax Payments…

First Travels Of the Year

Tons of travels with the Tennis Player Daughter last year, a goal to spend more time with the frequently left out Wanna be Guitar player, and avid snowboarder Son was established and shared with the team during our beginning of the year goals sessions…

Time to keep those goals… which leads us to the next update…

Office Hours

Monday is a Government, Capital Market and National Holiday… with the kiddos out early today and off Monday, our office will be closed early today and all of Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Day!

Earnings Update … Monday Travels (Groundhog) … Birthday Boy

Currently we are smack in the middle of earnings season …. Guess What ?

They are pretty good, not great, but certainly not bad. Hats off to managers as they maneuver through a sluggish economy and a slightly ill consumer. Well done guys.

We will go deeper soon, but so far so good!

Ground Hog Day Travel

Monday a week ago, on a planned fun turn-around trip , I DID spend 2.5 hours in a plane, but unfortunately never left the tarmac, as storms and low gas canceled both the outbound and return.

Monday we try again. Rain anyone !!!!

Birthday Boy … Happy 7th

Happy 7th birthday Pierce, seems only yesterday we brought you back from the hospital.

This is why ….. It’s a Friday, headed into a weekend, I REMIND …enjoy and do not forget to spend time with those special in your life… It goes fast !

Time Change…our favorite time of the year…spring break…Tax Update

This Sunday morning (3-10-13) at 2 am, don’t forget to move those clocks forward, stealing an extra hour of sleep. While we hate giving away the time, we greatly enjoy the evening light..This time of the year is our favorite.

Next week brings spring break for many, including myself. Tomorrow morning marks an early am rise and a multi-hour drive to the mountains. Sleepy time for the gang in the car is great thought and strategy time for the coming Newsletter and end to the first quarter for me. While many of the articles are in place, extra thought time usually leads to diverging ideas to share.

Taxes this year so far have been reasonable based on our point of reference and we really have to compliment everyone for getting a head start on them…Well Done! Again, hold off on your filings. Generally we are seeing less difficulty in deciphering the new cost basis reporting 1099’s, making it easier for all involved.

As mentioned above, I will be out for the majority of the week, working in the morning from my favorite Starbucks electronically while the family sleeps and skiing in the afternoon…..not to worry the days of aggressive runs are in my past…our goals this year, Pierce the 5-year-old gaining control and skiing on his own.
