TripIt – Re-review of our App of the Quarter – Its already paid for itself many times over!

With travel season in full throttle go mode … We thought it timely to update you on an App of the Quarter we did in our Newsletter about a year ago … We will feature it in our coming Newsletter too … it is super neat and deserves the space in our opinion!!

Re-Introducing TripIt — A Second Appearance App of the Quarter

It does not take too many of these notifications to pay for the ~$50 annual pro-version of this app — Kinda like getting a nice present out of no where.

Not sure about you guys, but once the flight is booked, the trip usually falls to the back of the importance line – not with this handy – keeping you frugal app …. It keeps on checking the prices.

I called Southwest and was happily give a credit against my account under the confirmation number. The credit made the next short flight across Texas free!

Look for more detailed review in the Newsletter as this App also has some very neat time departure and check-in time related and cool mapping features for finding lounges in various airports…

End of Quarter Friday …Newsletter … Away from Home

Break In — Deja Vu — Due to a user error (me– actually surprised this has not occurred before), you may have noticed this post early … That’s ok, its worth a twice read..haha

Today is the last day of the quarter. Wow that went fast !

Good News – Next Week Starts the historically best Quarter of the Year– Yeaaa

Bad News– We have to get through October first, which has “Historically” been one of the most volatile months of the year !

Our Newsletter has been sent to the presses… literally – We have a new outsourcing service that does a fantastic job printing and folding our Newsletter…. much to Cathy’s happiness and also allowing our editor Kathy, free color creativity and usage.

As noted in the parting shots, our editor suggested we go with a Vault theme. We liked it so much, it dominated the Newsletter, but we think it very worth the type time and your reading.

We hope you enjoy as it will be arriving in your mailbox soon, and a full video review here as well!

Travels

Today I am out of the office (and state) on a terrific trip to visit friends/clients and even take in a sporting event (believe it or not… it’s not tennis this time..haha)

Technology Wonder Travels – Friday

Sitting in an airport, several hours early (yaya – nerd planner) mid week, the technological wonders smacked me over the head:20160608_134745191_iOS

  • To my right a gentleman closes a contract for some type of weapons (lots of bullet talk)
  • Directly in front a woman runs her office computer and checks in
  • On the left, a gentleman runs a conference call with a bunch of folks on it- very productive
  • To my back, multiple kids on their device, and a mom face timing her family too- amazing
  • For me- other than a tad bit of slower connection via the tethered phone (spoiled by office speed) virtually present in the office

Everyone completely productive and in touch — not possible 10 years ago… AMAZING!

Interestingly, 10 laptops and only one tablet…. definitely a working group again – mid week!

Friday

After two heavy articles this week … How about a light Friday ?

Next week OIL talk!!!

But that is next week … enjoy your weekend!

Too Much of a Good Thing … Travel Schedule … Holiday Next Week …

As we enter the Holiday Season, remember there can always be too much of even a good thing. Moderation may be best ESPECIALLY for those tangible items. This family lives a few blocks from us …. Moderation?

Think his next door neighbors will ever try to sell their house during the holidays? NOPE!

Overloaded Santa

Travel and Office Schedule

Tonight the family and I jump a plane to the land of a big nose, tall ears, and a long tail. Thanks to some very special friends ( E&C M) we owe you much !

The family and I will be out all next week, returning early the following week, BEFORE the new year, just in case there are any last-minute items that need to be addressed.

Next week the office will be open, but bookended days off may make it tough to catch anyone here in person. Email is the best bet or leaving a voice message is fine too, as we are all tethered electronically.

While on the road we plan to make a family video, so do not hold your breath as the squeal is never better.

Ohhh… you missed the blooper Thanksgiving Video.

Motor Mouth Fingers … Camp David … Busy Next week …RSVP Reminder

So last Friday I mentioned the cup overfloweth with items to write about. With Monday being a thankful day for Veterans… thanks again to those military and even with an extra post this week, my motor mouth fingers could not catch up to all that was in the pipeline.  Look out ahead!Motor Mouth

Camp David Weekend

This afternoon, Sophia (eight year old who turns nine on Sunday) and I head to an Indian Princess weekend also known as Camp David (kind buddy who owns the place.) Unlike the recent Adventure Guys trip, ESPN, comfortable sleeping, heated pool is available. Much more to my “roughing it” liking.

Travels Next Week

Out two days next week with a fast turn around trip on Wednesday to West Texas and a full day meeting CEO and CFO’s on Thursday. Some of the clearest thoughts come from the time in an airport for some reason … not sure why …. and I always enjoy visiting with 10-20 CEO’s and CFO’s of publicly traded companies.
