Tonight I have the honor to not only attend, but kick off an annual CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) event for the CFA Dallas Fort Worth Society.
The event should be very interesting and open great insights to the speakers estimates of the near economic future and the effects on the capital markets. Closed to the media, I will bring very high level thoughts if appropriate in the next few days.
Here are the speakers and their bios:
Mr. Mark Freeman graduated Cum Laude from Millsaps College where he was a United Methodist Bicentennial Scholar with a B.A. in Economics. He received his Masters of Science in Economics from Louisiana State University. Mr. Freeman joined Westwood in 1999, was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2006 and serves as an active member of the investment team.

MARK MCCRAY is an Executive Vice President in the Newport Beach office, a Portfolio Manager and a Senior Member of PIMCO’s investment strategy group. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2000, he worked for Goldman Sachs in New York, where he was vice president and co-head of municipal bond trading with the primary responsibility of handling the firm’s proprietary municipal trading. He has 21 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He received undergraduate degrees from Temple University.
JOHN RYDING is the Chief Economist and a founding partner of RDQ Economics. John was at Bear Stearns from 1991 to 2008—-most recently as the Chief U.S. Economist–where he was responsible for analyzing and forecasting U.S. economic trends and monetary policy. Prior to joining Bear Stearns, he was a Senior Economist at the New York Fed from 1989 to 1991 and an Economic Advisor to the Bank of England, where he worked from 1980 to 1989.

I look forward to a wonderful event and bringing you the highlights of the respected speakers thoughts, if appropriate.
Have a Great Day!
JK
