Late last night, the word was received that my long time mentor had passed…. AKA “Frankie B” … My last conversation with him just a few ago ended with him saying “I am blessed to have had such a good life!” As a former top touring professional golfer turned excellent financial professional, he played with the likes of Jack, Gary, Arnie…. the endless humorous stories were always welcome…. never once a conversation without a laugh. For the record, with three decades of youth against him, not once did the score card read better than his… You will be missed, thanks for all the wonderful memories and terrific laughs!
Speaking of Golf …. the US Open golf championship… a major known for the extra difficult challenge …. Is always interesting on how pros handle adversity … For the most part they keep their cool and stay on track, rarely taking a gamble, especially during adversity … Of course we can feather this into mature investors, when times are rough, stay cool and keep on track!
Fourth of July is getting closer… for some reason the count down is more interesting this year… Maybe because the family is all together for the first time in half a year and will eventually head off for an extended time together… maybe just so happy to be back together knowing it may be the last summer as such… all part of the process….this was penned before the afore mentioned mentor knowledge… interesting!
Ahhh…. Today is a Friday… closing in on Fourth of July – mid summer- be sure to spend time with those special!
