Here we are again…. just like in 2021!
In the past several weeks to a month, we are finding that some email servers… Google especially! Are changing server locations … and when this occurs due to safety protocols, we may suddenly stop receiving your emails. This has also happened with yahoo and other carriers, but Google/Gmail is the most common problem.
If you haven’t heard from us in a maximum of 24 hours almost always WAY less… it’s very likely we did not get your message! The problem of course with this whole situation is we did not know that a message was sent to us so we could not respond.
We have had a situation where literally one week both the husband and wife’s Gmail’s were working perfectly ….the next week one of them was shifted to a different server and poof we did not get any emails from one of the spouses.
While somewhat frustrating because we don’t know what we don’t know, the fix is relatively easy. With a time stamp…we can have our IT department search the different systems (these are much farther than just regular spam folders) determine what server farm is causing problems …and as long as it’s not a terrible location for the server, we can open that up and we will once again begin receiving emails.
It totally makes sense that carriers are going to move their server farms to more rural, remote locations to safe expenses. The problem is sometimes those locations can be in a location that is noted for some sort of financial higher level of security, think money, laundering, heavy phishing, or the like. Our servers are specifically Held strong for the financial industry and as such sometimes this causes the problem.
Most of the time an easy fix, with just the time the email was sent…. but again, we do not know what we don’t know…
Bottom line if you’ve reached out and haven’t heard from us in 24 hours, we did not get the message!
