Summer doldrums, lazy trading, or light volume, whatever the name, Capital Markets have special characteristics during the summer months, even as we approach our 90 day Treadmill AKA earnings season.
This is a 5 minute chart of the S&P 500 for 8 recent trading days.
Notice how the days range is set during the first few trading minutes of the day?
Losing money in summer days of trading is still losing money. However, if you put your house up for sale and received a low ball offer, you would most likely pass.
With only 30 minute work days, there may often be low ball, or at the least inaccurate offers in the market place.
Just an observation we have noticed lately that you might find interesting.
Have a Great Day!
