Yesterday news hit that a lawsuit was filed stating a staggering near 3 Billion – yea that’s a B … Social numbers and other data MAY have been stolen…
Couple of thoughts on the subject:
So far we have heard only one side of the story – Hopefully the Florida based firm National Public Data will be out with more details
The alleged breach occurred in April of 2024 … from a crooks standpoint not new news and plenty of time for negative use
Avoid putting ANY information in websites that promise to see if your information was stolen – Again we want to hear from the source – National Public Data in Florida
The headlines are pretty frightening – The crooks may have had this information for some time – IF they have it at all!
Tons of suggestions to “Freeze Your Credit” – BE CAREFUL if you choose to do this, there will be nefarious characters trying to catch information as you enter it here too along with fake sites of false promises as well as the expected up sales…
As a measure of reference/comfort/misery/company… I have personally had my complete identity stolen over 5 times with no loss of funds…certainly lots of inconvenience, maybe lucky…not wanted, but made it through!
