With the inbox already happily stuffed with Tax Returns … We wanted to remind all of the many reasons we review and keep a copy !
- With a seasoned checklist that we have accumulated over the last two decades, we have great notes of items that get missed, understated, overcalculated and just outright forgotten…. all of this happens regularly!
- Last year, with duplicate statements from our two investment vendors, we caught many that had a missing statement- thankfully saving the inevitable notice of missing reporting – the most common IRS letter.
- Feeling a bit insecure about THIS YEARS tax planning, without our favorite Tax Cheat Sheet, there is likely to be significant tax law changes this year… making this years 2024’s copy of the return all the more important….
- As the season starts, we have an internal contest to see how much taxes we can save our clients… Similar to a treasure hunt, we are only finding helpful items, no restructuring the return and certainly not offending the tax professional… we are on the same team, but are certainly an extra set of over the shoulder friendly eyes!
