More Cyber theft … Texts, Credit Card, Email … Keeping our collective Guards up!

As the email kicked through the cell upon landing for the trip… several odd charges were spotted…. Upon further review, more than several – after a call to the Credit Card Company, new cards are on the way and being the family card multiple are closed…at least the exchange student is back on state side….

What a pain! …but better than the old Bonnie and Clyde gun to our face “Give me your money!” Glass half full here… for the exchange student usage, after a 4.5 month stay in Japan, likely a good idea to reset anyway! Oh…on interesting new item – There was a list of charge links that would auto transfer over and a list that would not – several on each side that was desired not the other side …grrrr … but knowledge of this is better than not, again a new feature not seen before!

Watch out – Cells #’s are no longer secrets

Fielding several text related scam calls in the last two weeks as well – See next.

Last week there the cell received at least six spam related texts…. The most recent subject being something like “Found this number and not sure who it is?” Nope – reported as junk, hence no screenshot below. Several bank related texts have been brought to our attention along with a Fed Ex Delivery “Click Here” Text… DO NOT BITE!

Having deleted all of the recent junk texts, a query to find an example garnered a bunch of ways to MAKE fake texts… GO Figure… Be careful!

Fake Docusign’s Continue

We use Docusign constantly- as does anyone who utilizes electronic signatures – Its a huge time saver and has happily sped up all forms of business transactions…BUT the bad guys are on it, we all receive multiple email with fake Docusign’s regularly at the office especially …. Watch out, then tend to come in waves! If you are expecting one, make sure the source is appropriate!

All in all, real world problems… no money lost, a bit of time to set up new connections, but worthy!

Have a Great “Keep Your Cyber Guards Up Reminder” Day!
