Over time we accumulate items… so much that there is a saying we should move every so many years (7) to purge stuff …
The same thing occurs in our financial life, we certainly do not want to purge, more importantly we do not want to lose anything we accumulated over the years…. the longer the life chapters, job changes, benefit changes the more these things stack up!

As tax season winds down, the number of times we have searched for a missed “one off” item (Computershare is the number one culprit) that was not received and would create a notice from Uncle Sam is large and growing….
IF only there was a simple way to consolidate this AND not waive another form to Uncle Sam AND not create a taxable event and lastly have the postal system in charge of a document that may get lost and create and IRS tacker on you!!!
Hmmm Meet the ACAT… The what?

In financial world terminology the acronym ACAT is super common – It stands for Automatic Customer Account Transfer service –
In simple terms this system and fancy acronym name is the ability of transfer of shares, via a computer system, into a consolidated’ account, without selling (if there is a sentimental reason) and one less IRS notice, form to lose/forget, update address when you move… and end the annual search for the possible missing form …
We can even do this all electronically in most cases….
We will remind all that have had this, but if we missed you, its a good idea to consolidate! No item is too small..they almost always get reported to the IRS…

Was going to talk about the ES Payments for 2026 you likely received in your Tax Return packet….but its a Friday, a Masters Weekend for those golf fans… and this post became heavy and long…so the ES analysis along with the Extension reminder will be on Monday –
Enjoy your weekend – Talk next week!
