Over the weekend, a favorite Podcast/Youtube listen garnered this post. Its a bit heavy, but hey, it’s a Monday, and tying all of this together is pretty interesting.
Moonshots from our long followed personality Peter Diamandis and his guests started with the solving of a super hard problem that has been around since 2000 – The equations known as Navier-Stokes and part of the Millennium Prizes – There are seven of them, they are super hard and only one has been solved, until last week!

“We’re sharing a solution to the Navier–Stokes existence and smoothness problem, one of the Millennium Prize Problems. This proof, produced by an internal OpenAI system, shows that the dynamics of the Navier-Stokes equations for fluid motion can develop a singularity in finite time.”

This cool chart from the announcement –
“The solution is a vortex, a spinning swirl of fluid, that spirals inward and gets increasingly elongated, like spaghetti. This central region shrinks while it speeds up in such a way that its energy still stays finite, as required by the laws of physics. “

This is not my normal reading, but the podcast did a pretty good explanation of what is going on… not the point of this part of the post…
Here is the sizzle:
The latest most powerful publicly available LLM (Large Language Model) dropped a few weeks ago, and put Open AI ahead of Anthropic’s Claude (for the moment) and all others as the beast/king or whatever you would like it!
Take the newest/fastest/smartest model …. and then do this! – Again from the announcement –
“….the group that produced the Navier–Stokes resolution involved on the order of 10,000 concurrent agents.”
Please read that last line again!
My explanation – Open AI took the latest, greatest, most powerful model, spun up (tech term for created – 10k clones) pointed them all together at the same time, to figure out one of the hardest math problems ever!
Going to take the very high road here, a small company of the smartest thinking machines were created and broke the code so to speak!

AI insider resigns
Not sure if this is coincidence, but the timing is an interesting look. Jacob Coxon, Anthropic developer, below, resigned and made several frightening statements about the safety of AI and specifically the coming AI Models…

Back to the team from the Moonshots podcast in the first subject, they quickly noted, AI has likely taken his job away.

The president of China, Xi Jinping is headed across the pond for a three day visit in about two weeks…
China’s AI models are what are called open weight open source models, basically very low constraint….lower cost, but still very smart.

In addition to the various political events that will occur during the visit, look for much dialogue and banter about AI and the safety of these models to also come out in the coming days and especially during the visit.

Our take:
The speed at improvement is astonishing – We have been following this very closely for the last few years, and have never seen anything improve at the speed this is occuring
The medical breakthroughs are only a matter of time – Imagine sending 10k machines toward a disease
Productivity in the near horizon will be improved dramatically
There are nefarious folks out there that will use these tools in inappropriate ways – Keep our guards up!
Exciting, frightening, and incredible, many changes coming!
