On Wednesday of this week, the Social Security Administration announced their COLA – Cost of Living Adjustments for 2027…
The adjustment is 3.6%!
Reminders on what this means – not just those drawing are effected:
Everyone currently drawing Social Security will receive a 3.6% increase- not withstanding lockdown years outliers, this is a HUGE COLA adjustment!
Everyone in line to get Social eventually, your benefits just went up by that amount too! Yep even if you are not drawing for many years, your benefit was just adjusted too!
Pension holders and the like – while each system has its own unique calculations, YOUR BENEFIT LIKELY WILL ADJUST BY A SIMILAR AMOUNT!
Not a Free Lunch – Payroll levels increase too!
We would also expect other Tax Related items to have a similar COLA – Think Annual Gift amount which got HUNG at $19k last year, bet it moves to $20k finally… at least!
