Financial Planning Tip(s)

Tax Law Update aka OBBBA – Something for Everyone –

Oddly, as we get through the details of the Tax Laws, the vast majority of the major changes are “Keeping things the same!” Meaning many of the Laws in 2017 are continued.

There are some great Tax Savings Planning Techniques that have emerged, oddly many of which are still fuzzy and need clarity from the IRS – Recall the IRS is different from the Bureaucratic law passers so they have to sort it out “Where the rubber meets the Road” so to speak!

Watch out for Rats … Cyber Rats that is … And Texts

True to summer form, idle minds and hands have led to an increase in Cyber “Stuff” – the newest fun name is RAT-

In our post here, we discuss the new RAT acronym – The following from the post

RAT – Remote Access Tool Scam – The following from our Protectors – Hence the detailed protocols-

How a RAT-based attack works:

These attacks may use legitimate applications, so the problem may not show up in antivirus/malware scans.

First, the fraudster sends a phishing email with a link or attachment that appears legitimate.

Once the victim clicks, the RAT is installed on that device without any notification to the user, and automatically connects to a remote server controlled by the attacker.

Lastly, watch out for familiar company Texts – there will be something that gives it away!

Capital Market Comments

Market Euphoria – Jerome Powell Pressures

Portrait of a middle-aged man in a suit with a serious expression, background featuring a dark textured surface.

While we happily bounced through the possible Blip in Capital Markets mentioned last month, continued discussion on the removal of Jerome Powell has occurred… Markets like continuity and hate mystery…. oddly if a change is made and rates are lowered on the Front end of the curve, it is VERY likely the longer term rate i.e. 10 year would move HIGHER in protest and nervousness!

Time will tell on these events… headlines will be interesting!!

Have a Great Day talk to You at the end of August from our Regular Work Location!
