Financial Planning Tip(s)

Cash Purchase Of Residential Asset –

As reminded in our Cash Purchase post here …. when making a cash purchase (no loan to make sure of all coverages)

Homeowners and Title Insurance – which are a must and again always mandatory when a loan is on the property, is our responsibility when making a cash purchase.

An infographic vector illustration titled "Cash Purchase? Don't Forget!" designed with a clean white and blue layout with green and orange accents. The center features a hand receiving a house key above the phrase "You are the protector." On the left, an icon of a house under a protective umbrella displays the text "Homeowners Insurance: Protect Your Investment." On the right, an icon of a document with a magnifying glass and shield displays "Clear Title: Title Insurance is Essential." The bottom banner reads "Have a Great 'Homeowners and Clear Title Reminder' Day!"

Social Security Reminder –

In our annual Social Security Post here – Another friendly reminder … take a moment to confirm your Social Security benefits are being recorded….

In a story close to home, we are having trouble getting credits at the office, even with multiple notices sent to the Social Security Administration. The farther we get from the mistake, the harder to correct.

It only take a few minutes, and is well worth the time.

Capital Market Comments

Bessent Interactions

What started as an informative explanation of a new use of a little known entity, FIMA – as noted here in Part 1 of our comments. and then again in our Part 2 on the same subject

Image containing text from the Federal Reserve website explaining the Foreign and International Monetary Authorities (FIMA) Repo Facility. Heading: Foreign and International Monetary Authorities (FIMA) Repo Facility Paragraph Text: "The Federal Reserve established a repurchase agreement facility for foreign and international monetary authorities (FIMA Repo Facility). By creating a backstop source of temporary dollar liquidity for FIMA account holders, the facility can help address pressures in global dollar funding markets that could otherwise affect financial market conditions in the United States. Its role as a liquidity backstop also helps to support the smooth functioning of financial markets more generally."

Then operation Baby Twist, as mentioned here in our post

From the post:

The goal, similar to the FIMA situation, lower long term interest rates!

Oh…. Why the name “Baby Twist”? In 2011 the Fed announced operation twist, a repeat of a 1961 move, and transferred $700 billion from short to long – By the way, it lowered long term rates 1.5% – This time $10 billion – yep that number is correct, and this is 15 years later, so everything is larger now… hence the baby twist name!

A cartoon illustration comparing three eras of Federal Reserve 'Operation Twist' monetary policy: a small pedestal for 1961 ($10B), a massive central podium for the 2011 Sequel Twist ($700B), and a small pedestal for the recent $10B policy announcement

All of this has morphed into a bigger story, as mentioned just last Friday in our Kevin Warsh, current FOMC – Federal Open Market Committee Chair at the annual Jackson Hole visit and speech…

As a reminder, all the fuss is about a group effort/desire to get US Interest rates moving down, the opposite direction they are moving now.

US10Y (Orange Line): Represents 10-Year Treasury Yields. Follows a similar upward path below the 30-year line, ending at 4.717% (+4.3bp / +0.92%). US2Y (Blue Line): Represents 2-Year Treasury Yields.
